Feb 25, 2010 · Step 1 - Fill your Car's Radiator. Mix new coolant with water and add this mixture to the radiator and overflow the reservoir until they are both full. Step 2 - Let the Car Engine Run. With the radiator cap off, start your car and let it run. As it heats up, watch the temperature gauge to be sure the engine doesn’t overheat.Add coolant to overflow. 5. Start car and warm up till tstat is flowing. 6 Shut off and let cool off. 7. Refill overflow. 8. Repeat several times over the course of several days, keeping overflow full. I’ve also heard of people say park on a hill and make the radiator cap the highest it can be helps also.My 2004 Honda Civic has been having some puzzling cooling system issues. The car would slowly start to overheat, giving me enough time to pull over and shut the car off with one exception. When the hood was lifted, it was evident that coolant had built up pressure resulting in coolant blowing out of the reservoir.

Put a hose on it and guide down below in order to catch the coolant that comes out when you loosen the bleeder - 10mm.
