I think the 4.5 inch lift will need trimming so I want to get the 7 inch but then im thinking the 35s might be to small. Aug 19, 2014 · You do not need gears. 4.88 with 35s means a shorter final drive ratio than stock. 4.88 with 37s means a longer final drive ration than stock. Its really just personal preference. You shouldnt consider gears unless you are considering 37" tires. I believe that you will get better mpg with 35s and stock gears vs 35s and 4.88.

I'm running a 2.5 spacer up front and have BFG 315/70/17 on rock warrior wheels. I can say the my tires do not rub any more. I had to remove the splash guards/ mud flaps in the front. And cut the skid plate.In my opinion it looks better than 35's on a 6" drop bracket. I have 325/60/20's on 20 x 9 wheels with a 3" front 1.5" rear lift. The tire are 35.12 tall x 13" wide. I would definitely get in regeared because I'm a firm believer that it is better to be overgeared than undergeared.
