You cannot. You can have an AI in the gunner seat and tell them what to fire at though. Press ' T ' to lock onto targets and your gunner will target them. BFM teaches you that throttle doesn't matter, in AFM throttle matters at every speed even you are flying straight. It takes far more concentration and skill to fly AFM. I would say 95% of AFM players are worse than a good BFM pilot.
