Yeah I don't see how someone could defend the hinge issue on the 7. The design was simply bad to begin with, as was the fix/ 'solution' the 2021 models still doesn't seem the sturdiest either. Seeing so many people have hinge problems is pushing me towards an asus.

There is a section on removing the hinges. You should be able to find the hinge part number from the laptop product page and do a search for that part on Lenovo's part store or on eBay. Also, if you currently have it open (lid up), DO NOT CLOSE IT! Or you may not be able to open it again without damaging the LCD.

(Even though the cover might be made of aluminium they cheap out with mounting it on a plastic frame).
