Honda spree engine swap Post by drewscharlow » Tue Mar 12, 2013 2:53 am I have a 1987 honda elite 50, and I was wondering if I can swap that engine out and put a 1987 honda spree motor in, I don't necessarily want speed, just reliability, and I am doing it on a budget so I don't want to pay to repair the elite engine.This made me believe the bulb was the issue. I took off the headlight and attached a 25 watt 12v bulb (brand new) and it was also very dim. I then measured the voltage coming through to the headlight and it was 4.5V, and when I revved the engine the voltage actually decreased a bit to around 4V. That motor is capable of 65+ MPH in a Helix or Elite 250 and I think it would be a lot of fun in the smaller scooter.
