The basic Model 55 Hunter was made from 1954-1965, with either full or adjustable choke. It sounds like that's the one you have although the standard barrel length was 28" on that model. Standard value in in the $100-125 range. There isn't a whole lot of demand for bolt action shotguns and they were built to be used, not admired.
