For subscription bombing attacks, the threat actor uses bots to sign the target up for all webforms that it can find on the internet that are not protected by captchas for newsletters, free trials, etc. While the volume is immense, the content is benign and often legitimate. Subscription bombing or List Bombing as it is commonly referred to is when spambots (automated computer programs) submit fraudulent information through lead collection forms on websites. This may also be referred to as form abuse or mail bombing.
