May 3, 2007 · May 11, 2007. #1. On the photo pages I posted a few pictures of a 75' Ash that I had cut down last year with a little Echo chainsaw. This saw was new when I first used it on this tree and in my humble opinion the Echo was worth it's weight in gold. Some specs of interest. The model # is CS-440 it has a 45 cc motor and an 18" bar.

Just a saw that works when needed with enough power is. A few saws from Husqvarna fit that scenario, 460 Rancher, 555, 565 are the ones that come to mind. Priced lower than the "XP" variants but have the same hard parts like cases cranks and cylinders, these saw were built to work and last.In Europe, the Partner designed saws were still sold as Partner, no mention of Pioneer, and no models of Pioneer origin. When E-lux took over Poulan, they created the Poulan Pro trademark on the remnants of Pioneer/Partner. The connection to Partner/Europe was still there, and many models were the same initially (remember, E-lux ruled).

Tacoma, WA. Apr 3, 2023. #13. A healthy 038 mag will pull a 28” bar and full comp chain in soft wood no problem. Hard wood will slow it down a little, just like any other saw. I run a 28” light bar and RS chain on mine. Got another with a 20” bar EXL chain and 8 pin rim sprocket.
Those Echo CS-450 saws are not light weights. I gave them honest evaluations with a scale that was calibrated with check weights. Usually, they weigh in between 11.47 and 11.53 pounds. Published weight is 11.2 pounds. Almost everybody cheats on the weight, so be warned.

Based on some older posts (2003) another difference between the 365 and the 365 Special is the carburetor. Supposedly the 365 had a Zamas carb while the 365 Special a Walbro. There are several IPLs for the Spesial on Huskys website. Only one of them (from 2002) says Walbro, the others Zama. M.9, 10 pin for .404. 9,10 pin for .325. those are all sizes guys do actually use on this forum (somewhat sparingly) and it would be cool to compare. Search Evilbay outdoor power equipment and find spools of 3 1/2, 4 and 4 1/2 mm starter coord. Those will cover 99% of saws. Use the largest possible that will fit the pulley groove. What you don't want is too small that pinches against itself.
Tractor Supply has a Country Line 20 inch bar 78dl .325 pitch .050 guage bar Chain combo under 45 dollars. It doesn't have the small oil hole seen on Sthil and the bigger 590 Echo bars but may not be needed.
